Week 13

Christmas Break

Dear Parent/ Carer,

We have enjoyed fabulous performances at all three schools during the course of the last few weeks, culminating in Carols by Candlelight and the Kilmorie Teachers Performance.  I have been privileged to see at least some of the shows in all three schools...

I am grateful to Nadine Bernard, Y1 teacher, who gave me this lovely write-up of the Christmas Performances at Haseltine, which captures the spirit of the performances at Haseltine and at all of our schools.
Key Stage 1, Reception and Nursery children performed the Christmas Nativity ‘It’s a Baby’.
They made us laugh, stare in awe and cry with tears of joy. They were absolutely amazing! The nursery children dressed as animals in the stable and danced away on the stage as they sang. Reception children looked absolutely beautiful in their white angel wing costume and we had 5 angels who sang together as we listened to their tiny little voices. This was certainly a teary moment of joy. Year 1 children were the wise men and carefully brought their gifts to baby Jesus and the year 2’s took on the role of shepherds. The shepherds were a bit of a nuisance for our cheeky Innkeeper as they continually knocked on his door seeking a place to stay. They completely filled his house. Thankfully the innkeeper managed to give Mary and Joseph a place to stay…in the stable. Our innkeeper did warn them that it is a bit smelly but it did provide a place of rest. Our Mary took on a soloist role and sang confidently to Joseph to assure him all will be well. It was definitely a memorable scene
To accompany the excellent acting, amazing singing and song actions we had our very own children percussion group beating the drums, shaking the shakers and tingly the triangle. Haseltine Children made us all proud.
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
